The Pointe-a-Pierre refinery, the main economic driving force of Gasparillo. Since it's opening, the refinery has been the catalyst behind expansion in Gasparillo, particularly of services. Seen here across the lake which is used as a source of cooling water. The pond creates a habitat for wildlife and there is even a wildlife sanctuary within the confines of the oil refinery. An excellent example of creating a green space within an area not normally associated with such activities. A closer shot could not be captured due to restrictions.
